Torricelli vacuum

Torricelli vacuum : A vacuum is created when a glass tube is filled by mercury and inverted in a vessel containing a level of mercury. The level of mercury from the tube falls down as allowed by the atmospheric pressure and vacuum is created at the bottom of the tube. It is called Torricelli Vacuum, it contains mercury vapour.
